The 67-point test, before the CRS score
Whether the Federal Skilled Worker class is open to you at all is decided by a separate grid set in the Regulations. This works it out.
This is not your CRS score
This is the pass/fail eligibility test for the Federal Skilled Worker class, set in the Immigration and Refugee Protection Regulations. Clearing it is what lets you into the Express Entry pool. Your CRS score — the one out of 1,200 — is a separate ranking applied afterwards. People confuse the two constantly and it is an expensive mistake. Grid checked 20 July 2026 against the Regulations.
Language
Speaking, listening, reading and writing are scored separately, and falling below the threshold in any one of them scores nil for the whole factor. Enter your weakest.
Education, experience and age
Full-time or the part-time equivalent, in TEER 0, 1, 2 or 3 work, within the ten years before you apply.
Arranged employment
Still worth points on THIS grid. The March 2025 change removed the job-offer bonus from the CRS score only — it did not touch the eligibility grid.
Adaptability
These are added together and then capped, so the total here never exceeds 10 however many apply.
Under a work permit OR while otherwise authorised to work without one. Do not answer no just because you did not hold a permit.
Under a study permit OR while otherwise authorised to study without one, at a Canadian secondary or post-secondary institution.
Parent, grandparent, child, grandchild, sibling, aunt or uncle, niece or nephew — of you or your accompanying spouse — who is 18 or older, a citizen or permanent resident, and living in Canada. Cousins do NOT qualify.

Two scoreboards
Eligibility first, ranking second
Almost every confusion in this area comes from treating one number as the other.
This grid is a gate. You either clear the pass mark or the Federal Skilled Worker class is not open to you, and no amount of ranking points changes that. It is set in the Regulations, so it moves rarely.
The CRS score is a queue position. It only exists once you are in the pool, it is compared against everyone else in it, and IRCC can change how it works with relatively little notice — as it did in March 2025 when job-offer points came out of the ranking but stayed in this grid.
